Measure and record pilot cell float voltage |
á |
á |
á |
á |
Inspect battery, rack, floor, and battery area and clean as
necessary (applies to exposed battery jar surface only in absence of
corrective maintenance needs) |
á |
á |
á |
á |
Thoroughly clean exposed battery surfaces |

Measure and record connection resistances (resistances between all
cells/units) |
á |
á |
á |
á |
Measure and record torque values of each electrical connection and
correct per manufacturers specifications when necessary |

* Above items are based on IEEE standards for maintaining battery
systems |
** All items above focus on verification of Battery System
Uniformity. These tests are not executed to determine battery
capacity however, can be used as a health measure to determine
confidence levels that the battery will perform per manufacturers
current discharge ratings. |
*** Capacity testing should not be run unless the batteries'
operation is questionable. Batteries should not be discharged beyond
the specified final voltage. Load testing or capacity tests are
considered a cycle on the battery. Cycling of a battery will shorten
the life of the battery. |
